How the inventory hierarchy works

Organize belongings from a broad Place down to the exact Container or Item location.

Easy Stuff Finder organizes belongings from the outside in. Use only the levels that describe where an Item actually is; you do not need to create every level.

  1. 1

    Place

The broadest property or inventory site.

    Home · Apartment · Office · Warehouse
  2. 2

    Location

A room or major area inside a Place.

Bedroom · Garage · Living Room · Backyard Storage
  3. 3

    Storage Area

Something within a Location that holds or organizes belongings.

Closet · Cabinet · Bookshelf · TV Stand
  4. 4

    Section / Position

The exact part of a Storage Area.

Top Shelf · Bottom Left · Drawer 2 · Floor
  5. 5

    Container

A movable object that physically holds Items.

Box · Bin · Fabric Cube · Basket · Bag
  6. 6

    Subcontainer (optional)

A smaller Container inside another Container. Use it only when the extra level reflects reality.

Passport pouch · Small organizer · Inner case
  7. 7

    Item

The belonging you want to find. Save it at the deepest level that matches where it is actually kept.

Passport · Flashlight · Charging cable
